Ashanti Douglas, also known as Ashanti was born in Glen Cove New York United States on the 13th of October, 1980. She is a singer, songwriter from America and actor. Ashanti was discovered as an 18-year-old and was signing with Murder Inc. Records in 2002. Ashanti was featured as the Fat Joe's What's Luv? The song "What's love?" by Fat Joe as well as Ja Rule's "It's Always" on Time are both massive hits. When she released the single, What's Luv which ranked at the second spot in the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States and Foolish at #1 and Foolish as her debut single, she was the only female to achieve this feat. in second position.
