April Lockhart is a born July 4th, 1995. When she was in the 7th grade she began taking guitar lessons and piano lessons. This ignited her passion for music writing. In the seventh grade, April began taking piano and guitar lessons. This ignited her interest to write songs. In her 14th year, April devoted much of her time to writing and practicing songs. In the following months, she started taking writing trips with her father on trips to LA and NY. April started to incorporate other relevant topics into the"Take my Hand song for some friends, such as peer-pressure issues and suicide among teens. Lockhart is a well-known lifestyle influencer, as well as having partnerships with brands that are clean and healthy like Ilia and YSL, has cultivated an impressive fan base. She was not born with a left hand, and that is what makes her what she is. It's just not the full story. Lockhart's Instagram profile doesn't hide her disability but doesn't just focus on the issue. What message is it sending? The message is: We all have multiple identities and are far more complicated than we believe we are. Lockhart speaks via video in Nashville. "I don't wish for it to dictate my life. I do not want to only be identified as a specialist in disability. And it doesn't affect my daily life. I conduct things normally, and I've discovered my own way to adjust the things. It's a big element of my life therefore it's important to talk about it. Self-acceptance is a lifelong marathon but Lockhart truly inspires me for this aspect. She admits that she's been through phases of her body at times being unsure about wearing specific types of clothes showing the arms of her. It's her choice to wear what she likes, and proudly shares photos of her dressed in her favorite outfits. For her, self-love is an extended process. The same is true for everybody, no matter what their levels of anxiety. The people you surround yourself with who truly know your personal story and who can look through your eyes are the best people who can remind you of the things you're concerned about.
