Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American actress, dancer and singer since the early 1990s. Some of her early Broadway shows include Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. In the musical, Hair. Tony Award was given to Ashford for her role as Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashley Tony Award winning actor and actress has collaborated with directors and actors on stage and screen for all of her career. Ashford is scheduled to be as a co-star with Kumail Nanjiani, in Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It premieres on the 22nd of November. Ashford's current film will be Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust, starring alongside Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. It will also be available as an Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford, who will appear opposite Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre during the march 2023 production of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will serve as the creators of the musical. Ashford most recently starred Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment based on the national crisis that swept up Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters as the nation's first impeachment proceedings in over a century. She was in two seasons of hit CBS comedy B Positive. Created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the show also starred famous actor Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No stranger to Broadway Ashford won the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her performance as Essie as Essie in You Can't Take It with You. The actress has also appeared on Broadway on Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde and the first part of Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots for which she received a nomination for an Tony Award. Ashford is a native of Denver. She was born and brought up in Denver and now lives between Los Angeles and New York.
